Dames of Our Lives is a one-woman, 19-character comedy whodunit written and performed by Maggie McDonald Condon. It is a show she wrote and performed years ago in New York City’s top cabarets. It had great success at places such as The Duplex and Don’t Tell Mamas and was nominated for several MAC Awards. It also had a very successful run in a regional 500 seat theater in Pennsylvania. Since the show was too good to just sit in a drawer gathering dust Maggie decided to take another run at it. And boy, are we happy she did! After some rewrites and updates the show is funnier than ever.
This past October Maggie McDonald Condon revived Dames of Our Lives at one of New Jersey's premier theaters, The Two River Theater in Red Bank. The response was overwhelming. To give you an idea, after one of the performances there was a reception in the lobby and a young man in his mid-20’s, a real hipster, said "I was laughing so hard I was crying," the very next person we spoke to was an elderly man in his 80’s who said the exact same thing! The theater was filled with smiling, happy people. It was a joyous event!
Maggie McDonald Condon has performed in cabarets in New York City, Off-Broadway and regional theaters. She has worked and studied with Estelle Parsons and the Actors Studio. She studied theater at Providence College and worked at Trinity Square Repertory Theater in Rhode Island. She is a member of SAG/Aftra. Currently, in addition to Dames of Our Lives, Maggie has several screenplays under development.
